I think my journey to healthy living will be helped by a bit of structure—there’s nothing like a solid goal to give you some milestones along the way!
- end the cycle of sugar addiction Officially: 2 September 2010
- lose 12lbs (gained since starting my job in 2007) by 12 October 2010
- run a 10K road race in Fall 2010
- maintain a 5-times weekly workout schedule throughout my busy seasons
- complete a sprint triathlon in Spring 2011
- develop a community with like-minded goal-seekers
This is a bit circular—sugar is a mood booster, so I’d like to stop that and replace it with a positive mood-booster: exercise. Adding regular exercise back into my life will help significantly towards 2, as will losing the sugar. So really, 1 and 4 will help lead to 2, and if I keep up with 4 I should be able to do 3, and by training specifically for a triathlon through the winter (by way of 4) I should be able to get to 5… and I think some 6 will make it all better!
